Atkins were one of the earliest adopters of collaboration technology and have used BC since 1998. Their initial use was for bid management on a school PFI facilitating collaboration between geographically dispersed project participants before such approaches became commonplace.

Atkins rapidly exploited the advantages of a corporate collaboration system and a sustained usage growth means that they can now boast over 14,000 users on iProNET, the name for their implementation of BC.

iProNET has been used on many challenging project ventures such as the inception of a new access solution for St Helena Island in the mid-Atlantic and currently on the Olympic Park Land Remediation project.

The unique tools within BC have allowed Atkins to reach far beyond simple extranets, and they have produced many powerful database applications for themselves and their clients, including Design Knowledge Repositories, Transport Booking Systems, Contact Databases, Online Project Forms and Programme Management Applications.
