BC used on urban regeneration project in Bulgaria
A Business Collaborator project extranet is being used by the developer Akropolis, to facilitate collaboration on a large mixed-use regeneration project in Sofia, Bulgaria. The 500,000m2 first phase of the development covering a 20ha site will include retail, leisure, residential, office and parking.
Award winning international architects and masterplanners Benoy recommended Akropolis use BC. Benoy were familiar with BC having successfully used it during the design stage on the Whitecity (now Westfield London) project in 2002.
The project involves a development and design team spread across Europe with members based in Bulgaria, Lithuania, Germany and England, so the extranet will provide an invaluable way of sharing information and communicating between the team.
The 500 million euro development, known as Sofiiski Akropolis, which has been likened to being "a city within the city", will be the largest of its kind in Bulgaria when construction starts in 2008.
