WS Atkins embraces collaboration software for bid management
Epsom based WS Atkins have entered into a three year
agreement to lease Business Collaborator from Enviros Software Solutions.
The software will immediately allow employees and external partners to efficiently
exchange and update documents (including drawings and multimedia) within
a secure, project-centric environment.
The software - which requires only that
users have a web browser and an internet connection - can be rapidly deployed
throughout the global organisation. No prolonged 'roll out' period is
necessary and any external clients and contractors may be easily involved.
From the initial bidding process through
to completion of the project, participants will be able to access and
amend project documents whether located at the office or temporarily off-site.
The project manager will control who has access to this information, and
automatic project logging will present the manager and selected participants
with an up-to-date project history. Coupled with the ability to re-use
knowledge from projects archived in Business Collaborator, this will aid
the rapid development of high-quality proposals and provide a framework
for the successful coordination of projects.
Tim Broyd, Director responsible for WS
Atkins Research & Innovation said:
“The world is moving at an ever-quickening
pace. We have used Business Collaborator to provide a flexible, user friendly
way for people to access and share information within a managed environment.
We are delighted with its progress to date. ”
Sanjeev Shah, Product Manager for Business
Collaborator added:
“Enviros wish to bring collaborative technology
to the masses, destroying the myth that Knowledge Management demands huge
resources, both financial and human. In Business Collaborator we believe
we have a product which does just that, allowing companies to reap the
benefits of collaborative working immediately without prescriptive technologies
getting in their way. ”
