Our latest release - BC 5

BC 5 enhanced document management and collaboration functionality offers unrivalled support across the supply chain. It addresses problems that might be encountered by users with little experience of working on collaboration systems resulting in rapid uptake of the system with minimal training requirements, as well as easing administration for large organisations regularly adding hundreds of users and documents. Listed below are some of the key new features, or download the full information pack.

Issues may relate to many standard construction processes such as Document Submittals, for Comment (view and markup), RFI and Local Printing Requests.
In BC 5, users may now take advantage of:

  • New External Issuing (optional) - send issues to people who are not members of the current project workspace or even those who are not registered users of the server.
  • New Volunteering Responses to an Issue (optional)- Respond to an issue on behalf of someone else in their company
  • New Referenced Documents - documents can be added to an issue purely to give further information on issued documents and not require a response themselves.
  • New Task Viewer allows recipients to view documents and response options side by side make responding easier and faster. Related issues and documents may also be viewed from here.
  • Where the integrated viewer, Brava!, is available, the document may be viewed in Brava! beside the response fields for the issue.
  • New Distribution Groups - group people who fulfil a similar role, e.g. document controllers or senior managers.
  • From the moment of dragging-and-dropping files into BC the new Document Processing Wizard drives the user through the most common processes demanded by the project (publishing and issuing) resulting in rapid uptake of the software with minimal training requirements.
  • New sections on the Dashboards keep track of outstanding actions across all projects (single user and /or company) and ensure that issued information is actioned promptly.
  • The File Monitor, one of the key differentiator's of BC, allowing users to maintain a list of documents they have recently edited and access them without the need to browse the Extranet, has been improved so it cnow supports offline working.
  • The new Index Server is implemented in a third-party relational database, providing considerable flexibility and the scope for further optimisation and increased functionality.
  • In addition to the increased power of the search, the search functionality has also been extended giving greater control over where to search, how to search and how to display the results.
  • Specify additional, custom attributes, or "project-specific" metadata such as client name, project number or project manager's name.
