Edmund Nuttall to standardise on Business Collaborator on all future projects
Edmund Nuttall Limited (Nuttall), one of the UK's leading civil engineering firms, has recently increased its Business Collaborator (BC) Project Extranet licence to 600 users and committed to a company-wide roll-out following a successful pilot on a number of Early Contractor Involvement projects in 2004 worth over £100million.
Nuttall envisages implementing BC on all future projects to improve communication and collaborative working throughout its multi-tiered supply chain. Previous to implementing BC, Nuttall used a range of different solutions on projects which proved both inefficient and costly and didn't allow for the creation of a consolidated knowledge base. Following the decision to standardise on BC, Nuttall's first objective is to formalise the use of the system via a number of pre-configured templates so that new projects can benefit from BC's web-enabled collaboration features immediately whilst still adhering to Nuttall's corporate standards and best practice procedures.
During the pilot period, BC's non-prescriptive approach to storing documents meant that it was able to meet the individual needs of each project, which included a coastal protection scheme and a high profile decommissioning project. This proven flexibility in combination with market leading functionality and an attractive commercial model meant that the decision to use BC as the extranet tool of choice for Nuttall was a simple one.
BC is proud to include Nuttall on its already enviable list of 'enterprise' customers which boasts well known names such as Atkins, Balfour Beatty, Costain and Halcrow.
