Westfield choose BC for Stratford City collaboration
Westfield, the Australian property company, have recently chosen Business Collaborator as their Project Collaboration and Document Management System (PCDMS) for the retail zone (Zone One) of the £4 billion Stratford City regeneration project. The site, which will form a key part of East London’s Olympic legacy, includes 1.25 million sq ft of retail, leisure and office space in what will be the UK's biggest shopping centre.
Westfield is the world’s largest listed retail property group with a portfolio of 120 shopping centres located in the U.K., Australia, United States and New Zealand. BC was previously used for the design stage of another prestigious Westfield retail development, the £1.5 billion Westfield London project (formally WhiteCity).
Along with requiring a future-proof system with a proven track record on large-scale projects, BC was chosen due to its highly configurable nature allowing it to reflect the client’s preferred drawing issuing and review process.
By incorporating a standard file naming convention used throughout the project, BC is able to automatically populate metadata (e.g. work zone, originator, work stage) when a file is uploaded so it can be easily located by other project members, so helping to improve the design issuing and review process.
